In a station of the metro, going on vacation
As I step into the darkness
I realize I have forgotten my watch
[1997/8]
This is my response to Ezra Pound's In a Station of the Metro. Although it is a continuation, it is not to be taken as literally. The vacation is death, either metaphorically or via train accident. As I arrive in hell (darkness), I realize too late that I am ill-prepared, without a watch hell will be an eternity.
The emotion that I am trying to convey is one of dread and despair, I had forgotten something and therefore caused my eternal damnation
